He studied at the New art workshop under the guidance of M. Dobuzhynskyy. He took part in the exhibitions since 1916. He was a member of such avant-garde groups as "The Group of Three", "Lyren", "Thw Union of seven". In 1921 he immigrated to Berlin, and later lived in Paris, in the second half of the 1940s Р he lived in Israel. In the years of 1920 - 1930, he participated in numerous Parisian salons: Tuileries, Autumn, Superindependent, during 1938 - 1954 Р he took part in the exhibitions in New York. He worked in the fields of portrait, still life, landscape and genre painting. His works are kept in the Metropolitan Museum in New York, Luxembourg Museum in Paris, in the Art Museum in Jerusalem, etc.
