The famous French artist. She graduated from the Paris School of Fine Arts. Permanent exhibitor of Salons since 1864, in 1877 - 1900 her paintings were marked by prestigious awards. Artist's works with elegant genre scenes and portraits had great success at public. She is the author of the famous series of water colors with floral motifs. Contemporaries called the artist the Empress of roses. Contained a popular salon- studio, which was visited by the metropolitan bohemians. The famous French writer M. Proust portrayed her as an elegant mistress of art salon in his novel. She also became famous as an excellent illustrator. In 1906 she was awarded the Legion of Honor.
