A Russian and Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the town of Chernobyl, Kiev province. In 1902 he graduated from Odessa Art School, where he studied under the guidance of K. Kostandi and G. Ladyzhenskyy. Since 1904 Р an auditor of St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (in the classes of I. Repin, P. Chistyakov and O. Kiselyov). In 1912 he received the title of the artist. In the early 1900s he traveled across Russia and Scandinavia. From 1908 till 1910 he lived in Palestine. He created a lot of impressionistic landscapes of St. Petersburg, Pskov, Tver, Carpathians, Norway, Netherlands and Palestine. In 1912 he returned to Russia, he taught painting at the Higher Women's architectural courses. Member and exhibitor of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions since 1916, the artistsХ society named after A. Kuindzhi since 1916. He participated in the exhibitions which took place in the halls of the Academy of Arts of the Society of southern Russian artists, Independent Society, "The World of Art" and of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia, etc. HIs works were often reproduced in such magazines as "Niva" (ТThe FieldУ), "Ogonyok" (ТThe FireУ), "Vershyny" (ТThe PeaksУ) and others. In 1926 he settled in Paris where he exhibited his works at the Salon of Independent and Tuileries, he also exhibited his works in Brussels Copenhagen, Berlin. At the International Exhibition in Venice the watercolor of the artist entitled "The Rainy Day" was purchased by the Italian Government. His works are kept in the State Russian Museum, Dnipropetrovsk Art Museum, Luxembourg museum and the museum Jeu de Paume in Paris.
