Koulkoff Alexander, 1889 – 1970

Russian and Estonian painter and graphic artist. Born in Moscow. He studied at the K. Yuon and I. Dudin private art school. In 1907 - 1914 he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of M. Kasatkin, A. Arkhipov, K. Korovin and L. Pasternak. Russian and Estonian painter and graphic artist. Born in Moscow. He studied at the K. Yuon and I. Dudin private art school. In 1907 - 1914 he studied at the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture under the guidance of M. Kasatkin, A. Arkhipov, K. Korovin and L. Pasternak. In 1910th participated in exhibitions of the "Moscow Salon" Society of Artists. Since 1918 he lived in Tallinn. Member and exhibitor of the Central Society of Estonian Artists, the Association of Estonian academic painters and many others. In 1930 his solo exhibition was held in Tallinn. Participant of the Russian exhibition in Tallinn (1931), exhibitions of Russian artists in the Pechora and Narva (both - 1933). In 1944 during the bombing of Tallinn the artist's apartment was destroyed,  a lot of paintings burned. The same year he left Estonia - at different data lived in Germany, Czechoslovakia and the United States (1949). The works are presented in the Russian cultural-historical museum in Prague, as well as many museums in Estonia.
