Kravchenko Ohrim Sevastiyanovych, 1903 - 1985

A Ukrainian artist, a brilliant representative of M. BoychukХs school. Born in the village of Kyschentsi, Kyiv region. He studied at the art studio in Bila Tserkva, from 1921 till 1924 - at Kyiv College of Art and Industry under the guidance of K. Yeleva, M. Kozyk, S. Nalepinska-Boychuk. In 1930 he graduated from Kyiv Institute of Art, where his teachers were M. Boychuk, D. Kramarenko and Y. Mykhailov. Shortly after the graduation he was arrested and deported from Ukraine "for systematic anti-Soviet activities", only in 1940 he returned home. In 1946 he moved to Lviv, where he taught at Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts. In the 1950s he was engaged in monumental painting, painted churches in Zoluchiv (1956), in the village of  Obroshine (1958), etc. His personal exhibitions took place in Kyiv (1967) and Lviv (1968, 1969, 1974). In 1987 the memorial exhibition were held in Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk. Author of portraits, historical and thematic paintings.
