Ukrainian painter. Born in Uzhhorod. During 1927 - 1931 he studied at Uzhgorod Art School under the guidance of A. Ukrainian painter. Born in Uzhhorod. During 1927 - 1931 he studied at Uzhgorod Art School under the guidance of A. Erdeli, from 1940 till 1942 - at the Academy of Arts in Rome under the guidance of F. Ferrazzi. He began his exhibition activity in 1932. Personal exhibitions were held in Uzhhorod, Kyiv and Moscow. A member of the Artists' Union of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1946. People's Artist of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1982. Lived and worked in Uzhhorod. Bright representative of Transcarpathian school of painting, the master of poetic folk images. He painted portraits, landscapes and still lives. His works are presented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Transcarpathian Art Museum named after Y. Bokshay and other museums of Ukraine, Russia and Europe. In Uzhgorod there is an estate-museum of A. Kotska.
