A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in Kyiv. He received elementary art education under the guidance of M. Rokytskyy. He participated in the art exhibitions in Kyiv (1927), Kharkiv (1929), Paris (1929). During 1928 - 1931 he studied at the graphic department of Kyiv art and trade school under the guidance of A. Ruban, K. Trokhymenko, K. Yeleva. He collaborated with such publishers as ТKulturaУ ("Culture"), ТMystetstvoУ ("Art"), ТMolodoy BolshevikУ ("The young Bolshevik"), ТDerzhvydavУ ("The State Publishing House"), etc. He illustrated the books of Ukrainian classic literature, H. Andersen, L. Feuchtwanger, A. Chekhov, M. Gogol, numerous children's publications. During 1931 - 1941 he was a cartoonist at the studio named after O. Dovzhenko and at Kyiv newsreel studio. He was engaged in the creation of book-plates. In 1980 in Kyiv there was held a memorial exhibition of his works. The creative way of the artist was studied in detail by V. Ruban ("The forgotten names. The stories of Ukrainian artists of the XIXth - the beginning of the ХХth century", Kyiv, 1990).
