Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. He worked as a portraitist, landscape painter. He painted a number of works on the theme of Soviet life and industrialization. He engaged in a poster, book graphics, monumental painting. Born in Kharkov. In 1914 - 1918 he studied at the Kharkov Art School. In the early stage of his oeuvre (1920) was fond of constructivism. He was influenced by Cuba futuristic group "Union of Seven." In 1922 - 1924 he taught at the studios and workers' clubs of Kharkov. Since 1916 was a participant of art exhibitions. Member and exhibitor of the "Art Shop" association (1919), Association of Artists of Red Ukraine and association of contemporary artists of Ukraine (since 1927). Exhibitor of the Ukrainian book graphics exhibision in Kharkov (1929), the Second All-Ukrainian  Exhibition of Commissariat of the USSR in Odessa and others. In 1941 the personal exhibition in Kiev took place. Member of the Kharkiv branch of the Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 1946 he tried to exhibit the painting depicting the escape of the population from Kharkiv before the capture of the city by German troops, and was expelled from the Union of Artists with the wording "of decadence". His works are kept in National Art Museum of Ukraine, Kharkov and Odessa Art Museums and others.
