A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of Merefa, Kharkiv province. He studied at Penza Art School. In 1906 he graduated from Petersburg Academy of Arts (named after I. Repin). Since 1912 he participated in the exhibitions. Until 1914 he lived in Warsaw, and later - in Kyiv. He taught at Warsaw School of Arts (1906 - 1914) ...

Since 1912 he participated in the exhibitions. Until 1914 he lived in Warsaw, and later - in Kyiv. He taught at Warsaw School of Arts (1906 - 1914) and higher educational establishments of Kyiv (1924 - 1949). In the 1920s he was a member of the Association of Artists of Red Ukraine. He travelled a lot to Germany, Italy, England, etc. Author of landscapes, portraits and symbolic compositions of antique themes. He designed movie posters and books. His works are presented in Warsaw Art Museum and many museums of Ukraine.
