A French painter. Born in Bordeaux. During the years of 1861 - 1865 he studied at City Drawing School in Bordeaux. In 1870 for his art achievements he received a scholarship to study at Paris School of Fine Arts under the guidance of the renowned French master O. Cabanel. He lived and worked in Paris. Starting from 1870 he was a regular participant at the Salons where he represented landscapes and compositions with gallant scenes. He worked also in monumental painting technique. Author of numerous paintings for the church in Lonhvi (1875), Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce (1878), decorative ceiling of the Paris Observatory (1885). Sometimes he turned to historical, mythological and religious themes. On order he painted portraits of the famous people of his time. In 1894 he was awarded the Legion of Honor. Since 1908 he had year over year exhibited his landscapes of Venice and Verona at the Salon.
