A Ukrainian painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of  Mashchenky, Kursk province. He studied at Kharkiv Drawing School and from 1889 to 1891 Р at Odessa Drawing School (under the tutelage of K. Kostandi). In the years of 1891 Р 1897 he studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Since 1893 he had been a member and exhibitor of the Association of the South-Russia Artists and since 1912 - the Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions. Participant of the the V. Izdebsky Salons (1909 - 1910), the World Exhibition in Rome (1911) and many others. He was engaged in magazine graphics and created cartoons for the Odessa satirical magazine УZvonУ (1905). Since 1913 he had taught painting at Odessa Art School. One of the founders and board members of the ArtistsХ Society n.a. K. Kostandi (1922). Author of landscapes, portraits and genre scenes. His works are presented in the NAMU, the Kyiv National Museum of Russian Art, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the art museums of Odessa, Warsaw, etc.
