Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, theater artist, critic and teacher. Born in Odessa. He studied at the Munich Academy of Arts, in 1908 graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Paris. Member of the French Society of Independent Artists and the International Union of Artists and Writers (France). Exhibitor of Parisian salons. In 1909 returned to Odessa. Participant of the V. Izdebskyi salons (1909/1910, 1911). Since 1910 published articles in the St. Petersburg magazines "Face", "Apollo" and others. In 1913, together with V. Izdebskyi organized experimental theater of "new drama" in Odessa. One of the founders and chairman of the Society of Independent Artists (Odessa, 1917 - 1920). He taught painting and art history in many educational institutions of Odessa and Petrograd. Introduced in Odessa Art Museum.
