A Russian painter. Born in St. Petersburg. He learned arts from Chystyakov (until 1893), then - from O. Kyselyov and A. Kuindzhi at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. In 1895 lived in Paris, where he attended the Academy of R. Julien. In 1899, he got the title of an artist. One of the organizers of the New Artists' Association (1914), member and exhibitor of the "World of Arts", and the Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions. He participated in the exhibitions of the Academy of Arts, the Society for Encouraging Arts, Artists' Association n.a. A. Kuindzhi, the Union of the Russian artists, the Society of the Independent, the Salons of V. Izdebskyi, etc. In 1916, he held his solo exhibition in St. Petersburg. Taught at educational establishments of Petrograd (until 1924), Odessa Art Institute (1928 - 1934, its professor since 1928), and Odessa Art School (1934 - 1938). He worked in the genres of landscape and still life. The works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, the Latvian State Art Museum, and many others.
