Russian and German painter. Born in St. Petersburg. He studied at St. Petersburg College of St. Peter and Paul, and during 1867 – 1869 at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. Russian and German painter. Born in St. Petersburg. He studied at St. Petersburg College of St. Peter and Paul, and during 1867 – 1869 at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. In 1870, he moved to Munich and joined the Academy of Arts. In 1879, he participated in the academic and international exhibitions. Author of landscapes, animalistic and genre compositions. He worked in the technique of oil painting, and specialized in depicting the horse scenes. His works are presented in the collections of the New Pinacotheca in Munich, the Bavarian National Museum in Munich, and the National Gallery in Prague.
