A Ukrainian theatre artist, painter and graphic artist. Born in the village of Lozuvata, Vinnytsia region. He received an elementary art education at Kyiv Drawing School of M. Murashko. Graduated from Krakow Academy of Arts (1896 – 1903). In 1906 together with F. Krasitskyi and A. Slastion founded their magazine "Shershen", in which he printed the cartoons. In the years of 1908 - 1918 he was a stage designer (since 1912 – chief stage designer) of M. Sadowski's Theatre in Kyiv. During 1922 - 1923 he was a stage designer of the Ukrainian Drama Theatre n. a. M. Zankovetska in Kyiv and he was also engaged in book graphics, painted portraits and landscapes. The works are stored in the NAMU, the State Taras Shevchenko Museum, and other art museums of Ukraine and private collections.
