A Ukrainian artist. Born in the town of Uman, Cherkassy region. He studied at the private school of M. Yarovoi in Kyiv, then Р at Odessa Art School (1935 - 1938), Leningrad Academy of Arts (1938 - 1939) and Kyiv Art Institute (1939 - 1941). In Kyiv, he became a famous theatre and cinema artist. During the war, he was captured. In 1950, he moved to the U.S., where he was engaged in architecture and simultaneously in teaching drawing, composition and painting at his own art studio and the Art Centre in Minneapolis. He painted mainly landscapes and still lifes. A great series of landscapes was devoted to the old Ukrainian settlements of immigrants. In 1991 and 1994 the solo exhibitions of the artist were held in the NAMU and in the Museum of Cultural Heritage in Kyiv.
