A French painter, graphic artist, and aquarellist. He studied at School of Fine Arts in Paris under the tutelage of the renowned representative of Neoclassicism and Romanticism L. Cognet, who trained such famous masters as J.-P. Lauren, J.J. Lefebvre, J.-L.-E. Mesognet et al. Since 1840 he had regularly participated in the Salons and exhibited his fine landscapes of Berry and Touraine county forests and the landscapes of the outskirts of Compiegne and Fontainebleau, in which he organically combined the landscape and animalistic motifs. Travelled a lot around Spain and France, painted genre scenes and landscapes that were replicated in the author's engravings and lithographs albums and had great success among the collectors and art connoisseurs. His works are presented at the Museum of Fine Arts in Marseille, Museum of Art and Architecture in Boulogne-sur-Mere, Museum of Fine Arts in Chartres, museum collections in Nice, Rouen, Strasbourg, Amiens and other cities.
