In 1899 studied at the Drawing School of Petersburg ArtistsХ Association, and then at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. In 1908 travelled around France and Germany. Since 1911 he lived and worked in Sergiev Posad. Collaborated with magazines "Sever" (1898) and "Rodina" (1911). Made set designs of the performances for the Sergiev Drama Theatre. Member-exponent of Moscow ArtistsХ Association (1903 - 1905), Moscow Association of Art Lovers (1906), and Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions (1907 - 1917). Founder of the Sergiev Posad Branch of the Association of the Artists of Revolution. Since 1918, he was a member of the Commission for the Protection of Arts and Antique Artifacts in the Laura of the Holy Trinity and St. Sergius. His solo exhibitions were held in 1930 and 1987 in Sergiev Posad. The author of landscapes and genre paintings. One of the main trends in his work was the depiction of architectural monuments, cosy rural places and monasteries. The works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the art museums of Zagorsk, Samara, Yaroslavl, Irkutsk, Sevastopol, Dnipropetrovsk, etc.
