A Ukrainian graphic artist and painter of emigration. Born in Kharkiv. He studied at Kharkiv Art School. In 1915 he abandoned teaching and began working in the local SynelnikovХs theatre, designed the performances under the guidance of the director B. Glagolin. During 1917 – 1920, he was a member of the group of Kharkiv avant-gardists. He organized an artistsХ group "Union of Seven," collaborated with the groups "Lyren" and "Group of Three", participated in the collection album "Seven plus Three" and in the first exhibition of paintings of the Art Union (1918). Co-designer of the lobby of the Kharkiv Circus and the ActorsХ House. A friend of V. Khlebnikov, M. Mane-Kats, V. Yermylov, B. Kosarev and D. Gordeyev. Immigrated to Constantinople, and participated in the exhibitions of the Union of Russian Artists in Constantinople (1921 - 1922). In 1923 moved to the USA. Was engaged in stage design, applied graphics, developed advertising stuff. Completed a series of graphic portraits, including portraits of D. Burliuk and B. Glagolin. The drawings were repeatedly reproduced in American magazines. Participated in the International Exhibition in Philadelphia (1923), exhibition of Russian painting and sculptures in Wilmington (1932), and Art Directors Club exhibitions in New York.
