A Ukrainian painter. Born in the town of Velezh, Smolensk region. In 1918 graduated from Myrgorod Arts and Crafts School. In the years of 1920 - 1931 he taught painting at Kyiv Art College. In 1926 participated in the design of the Ukrainian Museum City in the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. During 1929 - 1932 he was a member of ARMU (a nationwide organization of artists, in which since 1927 a major influence was made by the so-called "boichukists, the followers of M. Boychuk). In 1930 graduated from Kyiv Art Institute, where he studied under the tutelage of M. Boychuk. Together with the group of artists, the students of M. Boychuk, he participated in the works related to monumental painting in Odessa. In 1935 was repressed as a follower of the "reactionary boychukism school" Since 1939 he had lived and worked in Kuibyshev, and after World War II - in Kyiv. He worked in the genres of landscape, still life and portrait. A bright representative of lyrical trend in the Ukrainian art.
