The representative of the Russian diaspora. Sculptor and painter. Since 1881, he lived in France. He worked under the direction of J. Dahl and August Rodin. Since 1890 actively exhibits his work in the salon of the Society of French Artists. His works were procured in its collections by the French government. In 1900 won a gold medal at the International Exhibition in Paris. In 1901, he became a Knight of the Legion of Honor. In the 1900s, repeatedly came to Russia. Visited Tolstoy at his estate, Yasnaya Polyana. Commissioned by the jeweler Boucheron has created a medal in memory of the writer, which was exhibited in the Russian branch of the International Exhibition in Rome (1911). In 1910, he took part in the competition for a monument to Alexander II in St. Petersburg. His works are presented in the State Russian Museum.
