A Ukrainian painter. Born in Odessa. Graduated from Odessa Drawing School (1877), and then studied at St. Petersburg Academy of Arts in the art studio of M. Klodt and V. Orlovsky (1878 - 1889). He received small and large silver (1884 - 1886) and gold medals (1887-1888), and the title of a class artist of the 1st degree (1889). Pensioner of the Academy abroad (1890 - 1893). He had participated in the exhibitions since 1890 (of the Academy of Arts, Association of Itinerant Art Exhibitions, Association of Russian Watercolorists, Association of Kharkiv Artists, etc.). In 1900, he exhibited his works at the World Exhibition in Paris. Since 1893, he had worked mainly in Ukraine and starting 1904 taught at a drawing school in Kharkiv. His solo exhibitions were held in Kharkiv (1906, 1938, 1962). The author of landscapes and genre scenes. His works are stored in the NAMU and the art museums of Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhya, Stavropol and many other cities.
