A Russian painter and sculptor. Born in St. Petersburg. She studied at Leningrad Art and Industrial College (1923 - 1924), and at Higher Art and Technical Institute (1926 - 1930, 1931 - 1932 Р at the postgraduate courses), where her teachers were R. Bach, O. Matveyev, V. Symonov. Since 1933 she worked in Moscow. She taught at the Art Studio of the In-Service Teachers Training named after M. Andreyeva (1933) as an assistant of O. Matveev, and at Moscow Higher School of Industrial Art (1952 - 1965). The People's Artist of the USSR (1963), Corresponding Member of the Academy of Arts (1964), and Chairman of the Board of the ArtistsХ Union of the USSR (since 1968). An author of the works related to monumental and easel sculpture and a series of monuments erected in Moscow and other cities. In 1967, she was awarded the USSR State Prize for the sculptural portraits and compositions. Her works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery and museums of Russia and Europe.
