Hinton Charles Louis, 1869 - 1950

American painter, illustrator, sculptor, designer and teacher. Born in Ithaca, New York. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York, where in 1983 he won a scholarship for study in Paris at the Academie Julian (learn from A.-V. American painter, illustrator, sculptor, designer and teacher. Born in Ithaca, New York. He studied at the National Academy of Design in New York, where in 1983 he won a scholarship for study in Paris at the Academie Julian (learn from A.-V. Bouguereau) ans also he attended art studio of J.-L. Gérôme. He participated in exhibitions of the National Academy of Design in New York (1892, 1895), Boston Art Club (1895), Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1912 - 1913, 1925). In 1901 he taught at art school at the National Academy of Design in New York, in 1940 he became a dean. He painted genre paintings and landscapes. His works are kept at Bronx Museum of the Arts and other museum collections of the USA.
