Ukrainian painter, graphic artist, illustrator and painter who worked in the field of applied and decorative arts. Born in Trostianets, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. He graduated from Vyzhnytsky College of Applied Arts (1960). He studied at Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, where he studied under the guidance of L. Levytsky, R. Selskyi (1960 - 1966). Participant of exhibitions since 1966. Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine (1968). In 1979 his first solo exhibitions were held in Lviv and Ternopil (later there were held about 40 solo exhibitions). He actively made illustrations of works of Ukrainian writers (V. Stefanyk, L. Ukrainka, L. Lostenko, D. Pavlychko, T. Shevchenko and other. In 1988 he immigrated to Croatia, and then - to Canada, where he actively participated in exhibitions. His exhibitions were held in Philadelphia, Detroit, Los Angeles. He was awarded a gold medal of IX Biennale of Graphic Arts (1989, Brno, Czechoslovakia). He has been living and working in Lviv since 1992. Recipient of Prize named after Т. Shevchenko (2007) and Prize named after М. Cheremshyna (2014). In 2015 there was an exhibition at Lviv National Museum, most works from which were granted to the museum. Also in 2016 there was held an exhibition in Dnipropetrovsk. His works are kept at art museum of Lviv, Ternopil and those of other cities of Ukraine and in private collections.
