Danish landscape painter and printmaker. Born in Copenhagen. He studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Copenhagen under the guidance of I. Lund. He was closely associated with the artistic traditions of Germany and Austria, where he regularly worked: in 1846 - 1847 - in Munich, in 1851, 1857 - 1859 - in southern Germany and Austria. He participated in various exhibitions since 1837. In 1950 was one of the youngest members of the Academy. He participated in the creation of the Organization of Pension Benefits and Support of Artists (1851) and the "Future" Association (1865). In 1873 exhibited his works in Vienna. He lived and worked in Copenhagen. Works are stored in the art museums of Copenhagen, Odense, Helsinki and private collections.
