A famous French painter, widely known for his original and decorative manner of painting. Born in the town of Perinyan, France. He received his art education first at lХEcole des Beaux Arts in Bordeaux, and later he studied at F. Cormon Academy in Paris. Since 1914, he participated in the exhibitions of the Salons, where in 1921 he won a bronze medal, in 1922 Р a silver medal, and in 1925 - a gold medal. In 1929, he went to Algeria. He worked there through the request of the Sultan of Algeria first on the paintings of the Abd-El-Tif Villa, and later - on the decorative compositions for the hall of celebrations in the Government Palace. During the Algerian period, he painted numerous landscapes, brilliantly reflecting the plein-air effects, and also made the designs for Gobelin tapestries and paper-hangings. In 1932, after returning to Paris, the artist was awarded the Legion of Honour. In the last years of his life he lived in the town of Montpellier, France. The still lifes of this original artist are rather rare, since he primarily worked in the genre of monumental painting and landscape.
