The famous Italian painter, graphic artist and sculptor. Born in Innsbruck, Austria. In 1908 - 1914 he studied at the Venice Academy of Arts under the guidance of G. Ciardi and E. Brugnoli. In 1915, he settled in Florence, where he joined the futurism - avant-garde artistic movement. In 1916 visited Milan, where has got acquainted with the poet and writer F. T. Marinetti - the chief ideologist of Italian Futurism. In 1917 - 1931 was a member of "Group of Florentine painters futurists." In 1920 - 1925 and 1930 - 1935 traveled to France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands. Met with famous representatives of the artistic avant-garde, and participated in numerous group exhibitions of Futurists all over Europe. Member of the Venice Biennale (1934). In the 1930s also turned to traditional painting. Solo exhibitions were held in Rome (1926, 1940), Zurich (1930), Hamburg, The Hague (both - 1931), Karlsruhe, Baden-Baden (both - 1932), Milan (1935, 1961), Rovereto (1947, 1964) and others. Since 1940, he lived permanently in the commune of Rovereto. He painted abstract compositions, landscapes, portraits and genre scenes. Works are kept in the Museum of Contemporary Art of Trento and Rovereto, as well as in many museum collections of Europe.
