A Ukrainian artist, master of portrait, still life. Born in Odessa. In 1915 he entered Odessa Art School, where for one year he completed a five-year program of study. From 1917 till 1921 he studied in the free art workshops under the guidance of T. Dvornykov and K. Kostandi. In 1927 he graduated from Odessa Art Institute (the workshop of P. Volokydin). Since 1921 he participated in the exhibitions of the teachers of Odessa Art Institute, of the Society named after K. Kostandi, etc. During the World War II he was in occupied Odessa, for which he received 15 years of camps. After his exile he returned to Odessa. In 1950s - 1960s he created a series of remarkable still lives and landscapes for which he is considered a follower of the best traditions of the southern school of painting. He lived and worked in Odessa. The artist's works are stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery, in the Art Museum of Lugansk.
