A representative of the Russian abroad, painter, graphic and theater artist. Born in St. Petersburg. He studied under the guidance of M. Roerich and M. Dobuzhynskyy in St. Petersburg. Since 1914 he worked as an artist at Mariinsky Theatre under the direction of O.Golovin. In 1920 he participated in the design of mass revolutionary parties. In the early 1920s he emigrated to Berlin, where he had two solo exhibitions (1923). In 1926 he created the scenery and costumes for the productions at the Theater of Y. Yuzhnyy "The Blue Bird" in Berlin. During 1927 - 1928 he designed performances in Prague and Vienna. In 1928 in Prague he held the exhibition of theater sketches. In the 1940s he lived in Argentina. He worked in the theaters in Buenos Aires, painted watercolour landscapes, performed monumental murals. He held his solo exhibitions in Bolivia, Peru, New York (1948). Since 1951 he lived in Madrid. He issued several albums of drawings and lithographs dedicated to the history of Spain. His works are kept in the Austrian Theater Museum in Vienna and in other museums in Europe and South America.
