In 1748 he became a member of the Royal Academy of Arts. Since 1761 he exhibited his works at Paris salon. He worked mostly in Paris and Brussels, where he was a court painter of Prince Charles of Lorraine. His pictures are stored in the Metropolitan Museum in New York, as well as in the Art Museums of Montpellier and Nancy.
