A Russian painter and graphic artist, animal painter. Born in Sumy. From 1891 till 1894 he studied in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts under the guidance of B. Villevalde. Since 1891 he was fond of gun and dog hunting, which later became the main theme of his many paintings and graphic works. During 1900 - 1915 his works were exhibited in Moscow and St. Petersburg. He was engaged in the design of children's books. The reproductions of his works were regularly published in the magazine "Niva" (ТThe FieldУ), ТRodynaУ ("The Family"), "Iskry" (ТSparksУ). Since 1928 he lived in Orenburg, created paintings on military theme. He participated in the exhibitions of the Association of the Artists of Russia (1930, 1932). In 1936 his works were exhibited at the exhibition of Kazakh art in Moscow. His pictures are presented in the Art Museums in Irkutsk, Orenburg, and in numerous private collections.
