Ukrainian painter. He worked in the fields of still life, landscape and historical paintings, portrait. In his works he used the pictorial techniques of Impressionism, Cubism, Constructivism, etc.  Born in Volochysk, now Khmelnytskyi Oblast. In 1929 he graduated from the college of art and industry in Kyiv, where he attended the classes of K. Trokhymenko and K. Yeleva. For some time he worked at the studio named after O. Dovzhenko, collaborated with M. Umanskyy designing such films as "Alexander Parkhomenko," and "Big life." In 1945 - 1951 he studied at Kyiv Institute of Art, where he learned from O. Shovkunenko, M. Sharonov, V. Kosteckyy, T. Yablonska, S. Grigoriev. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1976, People's Artist of Ukraine since 1993. His works are kept in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in the Art Museums of Dnepropetrovsk, Donetsk, Simferopol, Sevastopol, Feodosia Art Gallery, etc.
