A Russian caricature artist. Born in Moscow. He had no special art education, worked as a desktop publisher in the artistic enterprise. Since 1975 he participated in the informal exhibitions in Moscow and Leningrad as a caricature artist. Since 1976 - Member of Moscow committee of graphic artists, since that time he published his drawings in the West. In 1983 in Paris the first album-monograph was published. In the USSR his works were not published until 1987 because his creativity was considered to be anti-Soviet (in 1983 he was arrested and sentenced to two years of camp). In 1989 he emigrated to Germany, where he settled in Berlin. Since 1994 Р editor -in- chief of the literary and art anthology "The Island". During 1989 - 2004 there were held his personal exhibitions in Moscow, Leningrad, Paris, Oslo, Hamburg, Berlin,etc. In 2004 in Moscow, there was released the album "Come quietly, speak softly: notes from the underground" which gained great popularity in Russia.
