He received a scholarship from the Kingdom of Poland to study in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1875 - 1879). In 1875 he received a small silver medal for the full-size studios, in 1877 and 1878 - small silver medals for drawings from nature. During 1880 - 1882 he studied in Munich Academy of Arts. He painted portraits, historical and genre scenes.
