A Russian artist, landscape painter. He studied at Odessa Drawing School under the guidance of G. Ladyzhenskyy, in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1888 - 1897) under the guidance of M. A Russian artist, landscape painter. He studied at Odessa Drawing School under the guidance of G. Ladyzhenskyy, in St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (1888 - 1897) under the guidance of M. Klodt, later - of A. Kuindzhi. In 1891 he received the second silver medal, in 1893 - the first and the second silver medals, in 1897 - the title of the artist, in 1909 Р the title of the Academician of Painting. He participated in the exhibitions of the Academy of Arts (since 1893), the Society of southern Russian artists (since 1900). Founding member of the Society of A. Kuindzhi (1909), of the Society of artists of I. Repin (1924 - 1929). In the Soviet times, he worked mostly in the genre of landscape painting, was an active member of the Association of Artists of Revolutionary Russia. He lived and worked in St. Petersburg, in the village of Ananievo, Odessa province (1916 - 1922), in Zagorsk (1923 - 1925), Moscow (1925 - 1929). His works are presented in the State Tretyakov Gallery, the State Russian Museum, in the Art Museum of Samara.
