A famous Hungarian painter and graphic artist. Born in Budapest. From 1847 till 1850 he studied at the art school of Pest (under the guidance of J. Marastoni) and in Vienna Academy of Arts (unser the guidance of K. Rals). Since 1852 he lived and worked in Budapest, for a while - in Kecskem_tt and Pe_. He studied the works of Italian artists of the XIVth - XVth centuries that inspired him to create a number of compositions in the style of "Cinquecento" and the high Renaissance. He worked in the technique of lithography. Author of genre and historical compositions. He comleted a series of portraits of the famous cultural figures of Hungary, which is now stored in Budapest National Museum. His works are also stored in the Art Museum in Ko_ice and Stuhlwei_enburg.
