Almost 30 years lived and worked in Venice. He received a lot of popularity as one of the best artists depicting Venice of the Victorian period. The works are presented in Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the National Gallery of Ireland in Dublin, Huntington Library in San Marino (Calif.) Museum of Art and History at Cambridge University and others.
