In 1903 - 1915 made ​​many trips to the northern and central provinces of Russia. Made a great deal of paintings, watercolors and drawings from the monuments of ancient art and architecture, created a series of people's typecasting, genre scenes and landscapes. Many works were reproduced in magazines and postcards. Petersburg Academy of Arts supported the master: allocated money for the trips and acquired the works made in travels. He researched and collected items of Russian antiquities. In 1911 he brought the works of his relative, the Academy of Arts Professor V. Vereshchagin, into the Perm Museum of Art. In 1913 he taught at the school of icon painting of the Imperial Union of Encouragement of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg. Participated in the exhibitions of the Union named after A. Kuindzhi, OPA, "Community of Artists", academic exhibitions in St. Petersburg (1896) and Kazan (1907).
