Ukrainian painter. Born in the village of Chornuy Ostrіv (The Black Island), Lviv Oblast. Ukrainian painter. Born in the village of Chornuy Ostrіv (The Black Island), Lviv Oblast. In 1953 he graduated from Lviv Institute of Applied and Decorative Arts, where he studied under the guidance of R. Selskiy, Y. Bokshay, R. Silvestrov, M. Fediuk. A member of the Artists' Union of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1954. Participant of republican, all-Union and international exhibitions since 1956. Winner of Ukrainian National Prize named after Т. Shevchenko (1999). People's Artist of Ukraine since 2006. Personal exhibitions took place in Lviv (2009, 2010, 2011) and Kyiv (2011). Lived and worked in Lviv. His works are kept the National Art Museum of Ukraine, in Lviv National Art Gallery, Lviv National Museum, in the museums of Canada, Kyrgyzstan and others.
