A famous representative of the Ukrainian abroad, painter and graphic artist. Born in Odessa. In 1892 he moved to Paris, where he settled in Montmartre, there he lived all his life. He studied under the guidance of A. Bouguereau and _. Detaille. He painted impressionistic landscapes, genre scenes of the street life of Montmartre, drew pictures with the pen. He exhibited his works at such salons as the Union of French artists, Autumn and Independent (1905 - 1906). During 1906 - 1929 he held solo exhibitions in the galleries G. Petit and Bernheim, in 1933 - in the gallery J. Charpentier. He received the silver medal of the Autumn Salon (1930 and 1931). He was awarded with the Order of the Honor Legion. His works are presented at the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris.
