A well-known American painter and teacher. Born in New York. He studied under the guidance of the famous landscape painter W. M. Chase and in the StudentsХ League of the Artists in New York. From 1912 till 1914 he studied at the Academy of R. Julien in Paris, then - in Paris School of Fine Arts, in Academy de la Grande Chaumi_re and under the guidance of F. Colarossi. Since 1913 - participant and winner of numerous exhibitions of Pennsylvania Academy of Arts, Paris Salon (1914, silver medal), the National Academy of Design in New York, Springfield Academy of Arts, the Association of the American artists, etc. Member and exhibitor of many art organizations, including such as the Allied Artists of America and the Artists of Audubon. From 1926 till 1927 he taught painting in the StudentsХ League of Artists, during 1928 - 1938 - in the National Academy of Design. Author of portraits and genre scenes. His works are presented in the Luxembourg Museum in Paris, in New York Clearing house, in Shelbourne Museum (Vermont) and in many others.
