A French and Austrian artist of Ukrainian origin. Born in Lviv. In 1905 he graduated from Krakow Academy of Arts (his teachers were Y. Megoffer and S. Vyspyanskyy). He lived and worked in Paris (1905 - 1914). Member of the First World War, fought in the Austrian army. After the war he settled in Vienna. He was an active participant of the exhibitions and gained fame and recognition. The works of the master were bought by the museums of Vienna. His personal exhibitions took place in Lviv (1913, 1928, 1935), Chicago (1930), Vienna (1929, 1980, 1981), Linz (1999, 2010). Since 1938 he lived and worked in France. Author of allegorical and genre compositions, nudes and landscapes. His works are kept in Lviv National Museum, Albertina and Belvedere Galleries in Vienna, and in other museum collections.
